Homage paid to Qasmi

By Our Correspondent

PESHAWAR, July 15: Speakers paid homage to the late Ahmad Nadeem Qasmi for his services as a poet, writer, journalist, critic and researcher at a literary reference held here under the auspices of the Pakistan Academy of Letters on Saturday.

The function was presided over by Prof Mohsin Ehsan while poet Aasi Karnali of Multan was the chief guest.

The speakers called Qasmi a trendsetter and a multi-dimensional personality who had left deep imprints on literature. He dominated the literary scene for several decades.

They said that as editor of Fanoon, Qasmi always encouraged young writers. He was a kind-hearted man and struggled for rights of the poor.
