Drugs seized, six held

ISLAMABAD, July 15: Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) seized heroin, opium, and charas in separate smuggling attempts, and arrested six persons three of them were women, an ANF spokesman said here on Saturday.

He said ANF personnel of the ANF, Rawalpindi, on a tip-off intercepted three women, Taj Baro, Qudar Gul, Zeenat Bibi, near Pirwadhai Mor Rawalpindi and recovered 740gms of heroin and 300 gms of opium.

The staff of ANF stopped a passenger from boarding flight PK-785, scheduled to fly to Landon-Barcelona, at Islamabad International Airport and recovered 2kg of heroin tactfully concealed in cavities of his two suitcases.

In another raid, the staff of ANF arrested a passenger Kamran Ahmed and recovered heroin-filled capsules from his stomach. He was due to fly to Gangzhou, China, through flight TG-510.

In another operation, the staff ANF under the supervision of Aamir Sibtain Kazmi, assistant director, conducted a raid at GT Road opposite Makki hotel Jhelum and recovered 12 kgs of charas from the possession of Farman Khan, a resident of Jhelum.

Separate cases have been registered in the ANF police station, Rawalpindi and investigations are in progress.
