Teenager held on terror charge

By Our Correspondent

TORONTO, July 15: An 18-year-old boy arrested in Toronto last month with 16 other persons on terror-related charges was back home with family on Friday after he was granted bail and subsequently released from jail.

The name of the teenager cannot be disclosed under the law. His lawyer said the boy was released under very strict conditions.

Four more boys under the age of 19 and 12 men are in jail facing different charges under anti-terror laws.

Lawyer Michael Block, whose 16-year-old client is the youngest of the group which known here as ‘the Toronto 17’, said Friday’s ruling shows the justice of peace based the decision on evidence, and not the high-profile nature of the case.
