BISHAM, July 14: Four members of a family were killed by a landslide in Tatira, Kohistan district, and three youths fell prey to roof collapse in Danga as torrential rains wrecked havoc in the quake-hit areas of Azad Kashmir on Friday.
Due to recent rainfalls and landslides, a bolder hit a house in Tatira near Bisham in Kohistan district as a result Muntazir, his wife and sons, Mohammad Taj and Mian Bahadur died on the spot.
In Danga, Abu Bakar, Wasim and Ghulam Abbas died when the roof of a dairy farm caved in on them.
Four people were injured in rain-related incidents. They were taken to a local hospital where their condition is said to be precarious.
Meanwhile, torrential rain and land-sliding continued in the earth-quake affected areas of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, blocking roads and causing hardships to quake victims living in tent villages.
Neelum Highway has remained blocked over the past few days at a number of places, including Leepa bypass, Noseri, Panjkot, Deolia and Panjgran.
In different areas of Muzaffarabad, rainwater entered houses and tents housing quake victims. A number of tents were uprooted. To make things worse, power shutdown has been continuing in several areas of Neelum Valley for the last one week. —-Online
