KARACHI: Govt sees conspiracy to sabotage city peace
KARACHI, July 14: Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad Khan has expressed deep grief on the demise of Allama Hassan Turrabi, his nephew and a police guard.
Expressing sorrow on the tragic incident, Dr Ibad directed the concerned departments to take immediate steps for identification and arrest of elements involved the crime.
In a statement here, Mr Ibad said that no doubt the incident had inflicted unimaginable pain to all of us, but we have to keep a watch on the mischievous elements to fail them in their evil designs.
He termed the suicide bomb blast at Abbas Town on Friday as a barbaric act and conspiracy to sabotage the peaceful atmosphere of the city.
“To eradicate terrorism and to foil the subversive acts of the criminals, all segments of society, including the
Ulema and people, should stay united and remain patient,” he advised.
The governor directed the law-enforcement agencies to intensify steps for protect the life and property of the people.
Sindh Chief Minister Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim has expressed his profound condolence on the demise of Allama Hassan Turrabi.
In a statement Friday, the Chief Minister strongly condemned the suicide attack and termed it an act of terrorism and said some elements by carrying out such acts wanted to create religious hatred in the country.The chief minister appealed to the general public to maintain peace.
He said after the death of Allama Hassan Turrabi, the country had lost a prominent religious scholar.
The chief minister also ordered judicial probe into the bomb blast and directed the personnel of law enforcement agencies to take stringent security measures to curb the acts of terrorism in the city.
Meanwhile, the Secretary General of Pakistan Muslim League Mushahid Hussain Sayed while expressing his deep sorrow on the demise of Allama Hassan Turrabi strongly condemned the bomb blast.—APP
