KARACHI, July 14: Jamshed Town Nazim Mohammad Arif Ajekya on Friday visited Chanesar Goth area of UC-4 and issued directives for repair of water supply lines with leakage, valves and removal of garbage.
The area residents informed the town nazim of the problems faced by them. The town nazim directed the concerned officials to start repair work without delay.
UC-4 nazim and Naib Nazim spoke about sanitation problems on which the Town Nazim issued orders for removal of garbage in the area.
TMO Altaf Memon, UC-4 Nazim Saeed Ghani, Naib Nazim Orangzeb, KWSB officials and others were also present.
Shah Faisal Town: Nazim Shah Faisal Town, Mohammed Imran has vowed to solve the basic problems of the Town through development works and make it a problem-free area.
He said a network of development activity has been laid in all the union councils for improvement of water supply and drainage system and public complaints about water shortage would be redressed by ensuring supply of clean drinking water for which filter plants would be installed after system improvement.
He stated this during his visit to various parts of the town to have an on-the-spot appraisal of problems and to review development schemes.
The Naib Town Nazim, Ali Akbar, Town Municipal Officer Syed Barkat Ahmed Rizvi, Nazims and Naib Nazims of union councils and councillors, besides officials of KESC and all the departments of the town were also present.
Talking to people on the occasion, Mohammed Imran said effective steps were being taken to provide a clean and healthy environment to town people.
He announced that problem of water shortage would soon be overcome for which old lines are being replaced and new lines laid in all the union councils. He said after laying of lines, home to home supply of clean drinking water would be ensured.
Anti-polio walk: The Lyari town administration has organised anti-polio walk in the town on July 17 at 11am.
This was decided at a meeting held here Friday to review the arrangements by the town for a three-day anti-polio drive, commencing on July 18. Town nazim Malik Mohammad Fayaz chaired the meeting.
The town nazim asked union council nazims, naib nazims and councillors to make the drive successful and directed the Lyari THO and staff of the health department to ensure administering anti-polio drops to children up to five years of age.
He appealed to the residents of the town to get their children administered polio drops to save them from being paralyzed.—PPI
