KARACHI, July 14: Sipping activity remained active at the port where three ships carrying containers and iron ore were berthed during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release issued here on Friday.

Seven ships -- Hammurabi, CMA CGM Sambhar, Khairpur, Mar Blue, Scan Bothnia, Lady Jasmine and Trinity -- are currently occupying berths to load and offload containers, rice, cement, general cargo, chemicals and iron ore.

A cargo volume of 62,073 tons comprising 33,123 tons of import cargo and 28,950 tons of export cargo was handled during the last 24 hours.

Container ship Hammurabi and cargo carrier Scan Bothnia sailed out, while El-Tango, Chem Adriatic, Kudam, Alabanda and Anette Kosan are currently at the outer anchorage.

CMA CGM Sambhar and Lady Jasmine, are expected to sail on Friday, while Wester Moor, Anette Kosan and Kudam are expected to take berths on Friday. Three ships, Mega-1, Suzanne and Simphony with containers, chemicals and edible oil, are due to arrive on Friday, while MSC Sima Pars, Orient Independence, MSC, Brianna, POS Dignity and Warbah with containers, seeds and diesel oil are due to arrive on Saturday.
