Arab FMs meeting tomorrow

RIYADH: In the wake of Israeli incursion into Lebanon, killing at least 48 civilians, a flurry of diplomatic activity is taking place in the Arab world.

An Arab League foreign ministers’ conference has been convened in Cairo on Saturday to evolve a joint stand.

Saudi Arabia is also reportedly in touch with world powers to carve a way out of the present imbroglio. The Saudi leadership is reportedly in contact with a number of countries, including the United States, to force Israel to stop its aggressions against Lebanon and persuade it to release Arab prisoners. Saudi Arabia is apparently endeavouring that major powers somehow force Israel to make a deal with its adversaries in Lebanon and Gaza and to swap Arab prisoners with its captured soldiers.
