Sabir Shah elected NWFP PML-N chief

By Our Correspondent

ABBOTTABAD, July 13: Former Chief Minister Pir Sabir Shah was elected unopposed president of the NWFP chapter of the Pakistan Muslim League-N here on Thursday.

Elections of the party were held at the Jalal Baba Auditorium in which more than 250 councilors from all over the province took part.

Abdus Subhan Khan was elected senior vice-president and Anwar Kamal Murwat general secretary of the party’s provincial chapter.

LANDSLIDE: The road link between Kaghan, Naran, and other parts of the country was cut off due to land sliding at different points and the only temporary bridge – Belly Bridge – was washed away as a heavy rain lashed the area on Wednesday night.

Tents and shelters set up along the River Kunhar after the last year’s earthquake were also washed away and two people were reportedly killed in land sliding.

Roads were also closed in Kohsitan, Batagram and other areas.
