GUJRANWALA, July 11: The district bar association meeting demanded through a resolution that civil courts old buildings should be demolished and a special courts complex established for the facility of lawyers.
Presided over by bar president Ilyas Rehan, the participants said they had to appear in various courts which caused waste of time.
WARNING: Punjab Food Minister Chaudhry Muhammad Iqbal has warned that hoarders and shopkeepers involved in black marketeering and overcharging will be punished.
Speaking at the district price control committees’ meeting here on Tuesday, he directed the hoarders and retailers to provide commodities to the peoples at prices fixed by the government and the market committee was responsible to ensure display of rate lists at all shops for the convenience of customers.
He said monitoring of markets had started to ensure implementation of the government plan.
He took serious note of provision of substandard commodities in sasta bazaars by the hoarders and traders and warned them that the government would take stern action against them.
RAIN: Heavy rain lashed the city and flooded almost all roads, including the GT Road, and streets.
The pedestrians had to face a great deal of inconvenience as the Water and Sanitation Agency failed to drain out rainwater even hours after showers.
