ATTOCK, July 11: A goods train derailed near Attock, causing suspension of rail traffic between Attock-Kundian section for some hours on Monday. Sources told this reporter that five bogies of a Peshawar- bound goods train coming from Kundian derailed between Chhab and Jammat railway stations about 135-kilometres from Attock.

After the incident, railway authorities dispatched a relief train to the site.

However, many express trains to and from Attock station including Khushhal Khan Khattak express, Mari Indus Railcar and Mehr express delayed due to the derailment, sources said.

It was fourth derailment of goods train on same railway section due to poor condition of railway track, whereas the concerned railway authorities did not take any measures so far despite the frequent derailment incidents at the section, sources added.
