SUKKUR: Protests against police

SUKKUR, July 11: Activists of the Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam and Jamiat Tulaba-i-Islam staged a demonstration and a sit-in at the Bhittai Chowk Mirpur Mathelo on Monday. They were demanding arrest of killers of JUI leader Maulana Allah Dad Machi, who was murdered 20 days ago.

Reports reaching here said the activists led by Maulana Mohammad Ishaq Leghari staged a demonstration raising slogans against police.

They said the police had failed to arrest the killers of Maulana Allah Dad Machi.

Maulana Mohammad Ishaq Leghari warned the government, saying that their peaceful protest would turn violent if the killers were not arrested till July 27.
