Haj fares increased

By Our Staff Reporter

ISLAMABAD, July 10: The government has allowed increase in Haj fares. The increase was discussed at a meeting presided over by Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz on Monday.

PIA Chairman Tariq Kirmani said that due to abnormal hike in fuel prices, PIA would not be in a position to undertake Haj operation without increasing the fares.

In order to hire better building, the ministry of religious affairs did not wait for Haj applications and transferred an amount of $6 million to director general Haj, Jeddah through its own sources for hiring of accommodation.
