TIMERGARA, July 10: The body of Naib Subedar of Dir Scouts Ameer Akbar, which had fallen into the Panjkorqa river after a scouts pick-up was blown up near an Afghan refugee camp here last week, was retrieved from the river on Monday. He belonged to Nowshera.

A contingent of Dir Scouts was escorting officers of the Quetta Staff College from Timergara to Upper Dir when a remote controlled device blew up a scouts’ pick-up, killing six personnel and injuring several others. The body of Ameer Akbar had fallen into the Panjkora river after the blast.

The body was taken to Nizampur in Nowshera for burial.—Correspondent
