KOHAT, July 10: The tehsil municipal council presented a surplus budget of Rs107.58 million for the fiscal 2006- 2007 for approval of the house on Monday. Tehsil Nazim Dilbar Khan who presided over the budget session informed the house that the total income expected from various sources was Rs108.97m of which Rs.86.77 had been allocated for non-developmental and Rs21.48m for developmental expenditure.

The development fund would be spent at the union council level with the consent of the nazims, he announced.

He hoped that with the award of sanitation contract to a private firm for Rs3 million the situation would improve.

He said that Rs1m had been set aside for the repair of tubewells, Rs0.6m for street lights, Rs3m for POL, Rs1.65m for repair of vehicles, Rs21m for electricity bills, Rs48.93m for salaries of staff, Rs1.2m as rent payable against land acquired for animal markets, Rs1m for women development projects, Rs2.52m as miscellaneous expenditure and Rs1.2m for work charge expenses.
