RAWALPINDI, July 10: A woman teacher was allegedly assaulted at gunpoint by two drunk persons, one of them a local councillor, in the jurisdiction of Chontra police on Saturday, police said.

The victim (P.A), a resident of Sangral village, told the Chontra police that she settled in the village along with her three sons and two daughters after separating from her husband due to family disputes.

She said she started teaching schoolchildren of the village besides sewing clothes to earn her living.

On Saturday, she went to a clinic situated in Bakra Mandi, Rawalpindi, and was waiting for a wagon at about 7pm when a cab stopped near her.

She said she found Raja Gulfam Akhtar (a councillor), who used to visit her house occasionally, in the cab. He offered her a ride, saying he was also going towards her village.

On reaching near the destination, Raja Gulfam told her that he wanted to have a stop-over near Chontra police station to take care of some important business there.

Later, the accused stopped his cab in front of a big mansion. The victim said she was trapped by the accused and taken inside the mansion where another person, identified in the FIR as Raja Tanveer, was sitting.

She said the two men drank alcohol there and raped her throughout the night. She said she found an opportunity to escape at daybreak when the accused dozed off.

Later, she came to the police station and lodged an FIR. However, the accused are yet to be arrested.
