HYDERABAD, July 10 Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal MNA from Hyderabad, Sahibzada Abul Khair Mohammad Zubair, said on Monday the Water and Sanitation Agency (Wasa) and Hyderabad Electricity Supply Company (Hesco) had made the lives of people miserable.

Talking to various delegations, he said the civic life had been completely paralysed because of frequent power breakdowns in the city.

The situation had led to frequent interruptions in business and industrial activities.

Unscheduled power outages had left many household electric appliances broken down, he said.

Mr Zubair, who is also acting president of the Jamiat Ulema-i-Pakistan, said that people of Chotki Ghitti, Adwani lane, Eid Gah incline, Islamabad Mohallah, Millat Abbas, Power House, Effendi Town, Sero Ghat, Phulelli, Paretabad, Ghau Shala, Missan Road, Hirabad, Market and Amil Colony remained deprived of power and water supply for several days.

Sahibzada Abul Khair Mohammad Zubair said that it was an irony that the bureaucracy had turned a deaf ear to the plight of the common man.
