KARACHI, July 10: Four ships scheduled to load and offload containers, rice and diesel oil were allotted berths at the QICT, MPT and Fotco Terminal during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Monday.

Meanwhile, a container ship also arrived at the outer anchorage. Berth occupancy stood at 78pc as eight ships were occupying berths to load and offload containers, rice, sugar, diesel oil and chemicals.

A cargo volume of 69,082 tons comprising 51,233 tons of import and 17,849 tons of export tonnage was handled.

Sailing was active as Natalia, Hyderabad and Ottawa left the port while Warrior, Socotra and Asian Trader were due to depart.

Three ships, Al-Jaber-15, Chem Adriatic and Trinity, with sugar, chemicals and iron ore were due to arrive on Tuesday.
