Rain relife in twin cities

By Our Staff Reporter

ISLAMABAD, July 9: The one-and-a-half hour rain spell on Sunday evening subsided the hot weather prevailing in the twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad for over a week.

The Sunday showers, second of the monsoon, were accompanied by duststorm. The rain started at around 5:30pm and continued till 7pm. The capital city received 31mm rain while Rawalpindi 14mm.

Winds blew at 40km per hour during the duststorm that hit the twin cities.

The heavy showers broke the prolonged hot spell and brought a pleasant change in the sultry weather.
