Transporters’ body assails nazim, QDA

By Our Correspondent

QUETTA, July 9: The All-Balochistan Transport Action Committee has said transporters will not accept what it called the policy of victimisation of the city nazim and the Quetta Development Authority.

It said transporters would shift to the new bus stand at Hazarganji only when other bus terminals in the city were closed.

Speaking at a press conference at the press club here on Sunday, committee chairman Abdul Qadir Raisani said transporters would resist forcible shifting to the new bus stand.

He alleged that the city nazim was allowing a particular bus terminal in the city but other operators were being asked to shift to the new bus stand.

Mr Raisani observed that QDA officials had failed to provide necessary facilities at the bus stand.

He alleged that they were involved in irregularities.

He claimed that the QDA could not issue road permits to transporters because only the Regional Transport Authority was authorised to do so.
