KARACHI, July 9: Asadullah Bhutto of Jamaat-i-Islami has been re-elected as President and Dr Khalid Mehmood Soomro as secretary general of the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal, Sindh.

The office-bearers have been elected for a period of two years in a special session of the MMA’s council held on Sunday evening. MMA Secretary General Maulana Fazlur Rehman and Deputy Secretary General Liaquat Baloch were also present on the occasion.

The council, which met here at the Jamia Madina, Gulshan-i-Iqbal, also elected the following office bearers:

Allama Yusuf Qasuri of Markazi Jamaat Ahl-i-Hadees, Allama Hasan Turabi of Islami Tehrik, Mufti Sharif Serki of Jamiat Ulema-i-Pakistan and Qari Saeedur Rehman of Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam (S) as Vice-Presidents; and Qari Mohammad Usman of JUI as Secretary Information, Mohammad Hashim Siddiqui of JUP and Allama Qambar Abbas Naqvi of IT as Deputy General Secretary.
