JKLF criticises AJK Act

By Our Reporter

ISLAMABAD, July 8: Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) has termed Azad Kashmir Act of 1974 as apartheid in which pro- independence Kashmiris have been deprived of their basic political rights the same way as the blacks of South Africa used to be.

It may be recalled that the nomination papers of 30 candidates of pro-independence JKLF for the elections to Azad Kashmir Legislative Assembly to be held on July 11 were rejected because they had declared that they wanted Jammu and Kashmir reunited and made a fully independent state.

The act was approved by Azad Kashmir Legislative Assembly under instructions from Pakistan government which had drafted the act and sent to AKLA for approval.
