Relief activity in Kashmir after elections

By Tariq Naqash

MUZAFFARABAD, July 7: The AJK administration has banned distribution of relief goods by local non-governmental organisations and individuals till completion of polls, it was officially announced here on Friday.

According to a notification, the step has been taken to ensue transparency in election process.

“It has been brought into our notice that some local NGOs and individuals are distributing relief goods among earthquake survivors which is giving birth to different complaints vis-à-vis impartiality of elections,” said the notification issued by Deputy Commissioner Muzaffarabad Fayyaz Ali Abbasi.

Since it was creating a negative impact on the election process, it had been decided to ban distribution of all kinds of relief goods till July 12, i.e., after the polling day, the notification added.
