QUETTA, July 6: The Balochistan National Party has condemned what it called armed action against Bugti tribesmen in Sangsilla area by security forces.
The party’s information Secretary Senator Sana Baloch called Dawn from London on Thursday and said that no law allowed the state to use troops, fighter planes and helicopter gunships against its own people.
“The action launched by the government in Balochistan is illegal and in violation of the constitution,” the senator said.
He said if there were cases against any person, the government should bring them to court.
He appealed to the Supreme Court to take notice of the “One-sided action of the government against innocent people.”
He demanded that the military operation in Balochistan should be stopped and all issues of the province should be resolved through negotiations. He said use of force and military operations would intensify hatred against the government among people.
Senator Baloch will visit Geneva next week to explain Balochistan‘s situation to various human rights organisations.—Staff Correspondent
