HYDERABAD, July 5: The district nazim, the executive district officer (EDO) and the district officer revenue on Wednesday denied that they were harassing the caterer of the Dialdas Club.

However, they told the Hyderabad circuit bench of the Sindh High Court that the caterer was violating terms and conditions of the agreement reached with the club by using the club premises for commercial activities, including marriage functions.

They filed their comments before the court in reply to a constitutional petition submitted by Aijaz Khoja, club’s caterer. However, the EDO also filed a counter affidavit in response to a contempt of court application in the same matter.

The court had earlier directed parties to maintain status quo and allowed time to petitioner’s counsel Anwar Ansari to go through comments and file rejoinder while fixing the matter for July 19 for further hearing.

Respondents EDO revenue, district officer (DO) revenue Mohammad Shahid and Cantonment police station SHO Javed Iqbal Khanzada appeared in response to the contempt of court application.
