KOHAT, July 2: Leaders of different parties, speaking at a protest meeting held by journalists here on Sunday, condemned the recent attack on the Peshawar Press Club and demanded the arrest of attackers.
They joined a protest demonstration held by journalists outside the Kohat Press Club and wore black armbands.
Speaking at the meeting, PML’s provincial senior vice-president Malik Asad Khan criticised the attack and termed it an act of terrorism against the fourth pillar of the state.
He demanded that those involved in the attack should be punished irrespective of their political affiliations. He clarified that two rival groups in the PML belonging to the NWFP were involved in the attack. He said the federal government believed in an independent media and understood its sanctity.
