KARACHI: New FCS chief

By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, July 1: In a surprise move, Advisor to Sindh Chief Minister on Fisheries and Livestock Faqir Mohammad Jadam Mangrio has been named chairman of the Fishermen Cooperative Society (FCS), replacing Shahbaz Husain who was elected a couple days back.

A press release issued here said Mr Husain had resigned on personal reasons. It further said following his resignation, a special meeting of the Society’s Board of Directors was held and it elected Mr Mangrio unopposed as new chairman.

The press release did not say whether the elected representatives of the Society were present in the meeting or not. The Society’s Board comprises 15 members: eight of them are nominated by the government and seven are elected by the fishermen communities.
