KARACHI, June 30: Three ships carrying iron scrap, steel and containers are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Saturday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was maintained on the higher side where eight ships were berthed. They are: Orient Indpendence, Mar Calabria, Eric G Gibson, Kota Tabah and Global Progress, with containers, Lalazar and Opal, oil tankers, Enricher, with general cargo.

Four vessels, MOL Silver Fern, Hyundai Highway, Y.M.Moon and Khairpur departed on Friday, while Enricher, Eric G Gibson, Lalazar, Thor Captain, Opal, Global Progress, and Kota Tabah are due to sail out on Saturday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves was active where a total cargo of 97,833 tons comprising 18,170 tons of export cargo and 79,663 tons of import tonnage was handled.

The following ships are due on Saturdy: Alycia, with 31,500 tons of iron scrap, Maersk Alabama, with containers and Xiang Rui Men, with steel and general cargo.
