VVIP guard fails to guard his rifle

By Our Staff Reporter

RAWALPINDI, June 29: A police guard on VVIP duty was overpowered by armed men who escaped with his rifle early Thursday morning, sources said. Constable Zameer Hussain was on duty on Islamabad Highway near Iqbal Town at 1:30am as President Musharraf was heading to the Army House in Rawalpindi after inaugurating a restaurant at Daman-i-Koh when a gang of armed men appeared on the scene and snatched his rifle.

The sources said the attackers also snatched a pistol from a private security guard who was also present there at that time.
