Tri-nation postponed

By Our Sports Correspondent

LAHORE, June 28: The three-nation badminton series between Pakistan, India and Iran, which was scheduled to be held at Islamabad from Thursday has been postponed after Indian team failed to get clearance from their government.

Secretary of Pakistan Badminton Federation Aamir Hayat Khan Rokhari said that the Indian immigration officials did not allow their team to cross Attari border on Tuesday because they could not get government's clearance.

He said the PBF did efforts to remove all hurdles in getting visas for the Indian team in two days, but they failed to obtain the clearance.

He said the PBF would try to hold the event now in the third week of next month.

Meanwhile, S Naqi Mohsin, the chief organiser of the international event said that Pakistan team was in top form and competitions against India and Iran could provide it a better opportunity to hone the skill before taking part in the 10th South Asian Games to be held in Sri Lanka in August.
