LAHORE, June 27: Robbers on Tuesday looted cash, gold and valuables in over a dozen strikes in various parts of the city. Shoaib Ahmad told police he together with his family was on way home when two gunmen intercepted his car near Masjid Chowk in the Defence Housing Society. He said the gangsters deprived his family members of cash and gold ornaments worth around Rs700,000.

Four gun-toting men burst into the house of Asim Mahmood in Abu Barakr Block of Garden Town and made off with cash, gold and valuables worth Rs600,000.

Two armed men took away Rs18,000 and a cell phone from Allah Bukhsh in Sattukatla, while cell phones and calling cards worth over Rs200,000 were stolen from a shop in Township.

Two more robbers deprived Hashim of Rs10,000 and a cell phone in Ghaziabad.

Husnain said he was on way to his workplace when two gunmen held him in Green Town and took away Rs3,000 and a cell phone, while a motorcycle and a cell phone were taken away from Khurram on Bund Road in Islampura.
