FAISALABAD, June 27: Unscheduled loadshedding in almost all parts of rural areas and city localities has paralyzed normal life. Hours long power interruption and fluctuations have become a normal practice throughout the city and rural areas of Samundri, Jaranwala, Tandlianwala, Chak Jhumra, Satiana, Dijkot and Aminpur Bangla.

The people said they had been facing a great deal of inconvenience because of four to five hours of loadshedding in hot and humid conditions.

Shopkeepers of eight bazaars and the adjoining markets have also complained of repeated power breakdown, adding that they have been sustaining huge financial losses owing to power disruptions.

Owners of private clinics and management of government-run hospitals are facing problems as patients were making a hue and cry because of power suspension.

Owners of cottage industries and industrialists have flayed the Fesco authorities for suspending electricity four to five times a day. They claimed that scores of workers had been rendered jobless for want of electricity.

Meanwhile, a spokesman of the Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FCCI) said a number of units were on the verge of closure due to hours long power breakdown, posing a serious threat to the local industry.
