KARACHI, June 27: Eight vessels carrying containers, palm oil and to load naphtha are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Wednesday, according to KPT sources. No ship was berthed at the wharves, as shippers did not ask for berthing space on technical grounds, including the cargoes to be unloaded were not ready.

Sailing on the other hand was active as seven ships, Nordwoge, Tower Bridge, Serife, Orchid Bay, Conqueror, Johar and Hartati departed on Tuesday, while Preseverance, Hyderabad and APL Dalian are due to sail out on Wednesday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves was active where a total tonnage of 97,417 tons comprising 29,755 tons of export cargo, including 2,543 tons of rice and 1,033 tons of cement and 67,662 tons of import tonnage, was handled.

The following ships are due on Wednesday: Sutra Tiga, to load 8,000 tons of naphtha, Opal, with palm oil, Kota Wajar, Hyundai Highway, Y.M. Sun, Mar Calabria, Orient Independence and Thor Captain, with containers.
