MQM blames MMA for law, order situation in NWFP

By Our Staff Reporter

ISLAMABAD, June 26: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement on Monday demanded removal of the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal government in the NWFP, alleging that it had failed to maintain law and order in the province.

Speaking at a news conference here, MQM parliamentary leader in the National Assembly Dr Farooq Sattar alleged that lawlessness and terrorism were at peak in the NWFP due to poor policies of the MMA government.

MQM MNAs Syed Haider Abbas Rizvi, Kunwar Khalid Yunus, Abdul Qadir Khanzada, Abid Ali Umang, Dev Das and Federal Minister for Communications Shamim Siddiqui were also present.

Dr Sattar said there was a war-like situation in North and South Waziristan where army and security forces personnel were being attacked by militants.

He claimed that personnel of law-enforcement agencies had also been targeted in bomb blasts in Bannu, Dera Ismail Khan, Peshawar and some other parts of the NWFP.
