KARACHI: Man kills pregnant wife

KARACHI, June 26: A man killed his pregnant wife early Monday morning in Korangi. Police said Abid Husain, 35, killed his 25-year-old wife, Afsheen, by slitting her throat while she was asleep in their house in Zia Colony, Korangi.

Police said after killing his wife, the suspect escaped from the home leaving his wife in a pool of blood. Her body was discovered by her parents, who had come to see her.

Police shifted the body to the Jinnah Hospital for legal formalities.

In the afternoon police arrested Abid Husain in Zia Colony.

Hospital sources confirmed that the woman was seven-month pregnant. They said she had also suffered stab wounds in the abdomen.

Following his arrest Abid Husain confessed killing his wife accusing her of having a suspicious character.

Police said the couple had married over a year back. Soon after their marriage, they developed differences and Afsheen returned to her parent’s home.

She recently returned to her husband’s house, but reportedly the couple again ran into differences.

On Sunday, a man had killed his wife and an infant son by slitting their throats in Bakhtawar Goth in Bin Qasim Town.

WASHED ASHORE: The body of Umar Butt, 23, who had drowned in the sea at Cape Montz on Sunday evening washed ashore on Monday.

Two young man were swept away by strong waves on Sunday.

However, the body of Hasan Jawad has not been found.

Officials said Hasan Jawad had tried to rescue the drowning Umar Butt, but he also drowned.
