KARACHI: Ishwar seeks action against PPP MPAs

By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, June 26: Ishwar Lal, a PML-Q member of the Sindh Assembly, on Monday filed a privilege motion with the assembly secretary against four PPP MPAs – Murad Ali Shah, Haji Munawwar Ali Abbasi, Mohammad Saleem Hingoro and Mohammad Nawaz Chandio – claiming a murderous attempt having been made against him by the legislators.

Praying that all relevant rules may be relaxed under Rule 211 to discuss his motion in his absence as he was unable to attend the proceedings because of being in a state of deep mental shock and also because he had been suspended from current session.

In the privilege motion, Ishwar Lal has stated that on June 21 at about 12:30pm he was waiting for his turn to speak on the general discussion on budget when the four MPAs came and told him that Nisar Ahmad Khuhro had sent them to fix him up for sending a chit to Ms Shazia Marri.

He has maintained that he had sent the chit, with words ‘How are you’, after learning that Ms Marri was not feeling well.

Mr Lal said that when he conveyed this to the four MPAs, they started beating him up and threatening to kill him. He said that some other members had to intervene to rescue him.
