Palm oil exports down


KUALA LUMPUR, June 26: Exports of Malaysian oil palm products for June 1-25 stood at 849,560 tons, down 0.67 per cent from 855,297 tons shipped in May 1-25, cargo surveyor Societe Generale de Surveillance said on Monday.

SGS said the estimate comprised 773,904 tonnes of palm oils and 75,656 tons of oleochemicals and lauric oils.

In the palm oils category, 75,184 tonnes were made up of refined, bleached and deodorised (RBD) palm oil, 390,435 tons of RBD palm olein, 63,724 tons of RBD palm stearin and 136,471 tons of crude palm oil.

China was the biggest buyer of Malaysian oil palm products for June 1-25, taking 187,862 tons, followed by the United States with 56,840 tons and Pakistan with 51,500 tons. EU countries took a total of 164,550 tons.—Reuters
