ATTOCK, June 25: Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz on Sunday said his government would continue its efforts to reduce the prices of essential commodities for the benefit of the common man.
Speaking to people after inaugurating a utility store outlet at Fatehjhang, he said the government was well aware of the problems of the masses due to price hikes and was utilising all its resources to ensure the provision of daily-use items on reasonable prices.
He claimed that the provision of daily-use items at reduced prices in the utility stores was proving helpful in lowering the prices in the open market, as traders had also started reducing the prices to match the utility stores.
“Attock is my own constituency and I am really obliged to the people of this district for voting me to the National Assembly. I have the prime responsibly of caring for your interests and resolving your problems,” he declared.
He said construction process of new Islamabad airport would start in July.
The airport construction would bring massive development and employment opportunities to all sectors of the district and sufficient job quote would be allocated for the people of the district in the project.
On complaints about supply of contaminated drinking water, Mr Aziz announced installation of a filtration plant at Fatehjhang.
He also visited some shops and talked to the shopkeepers about the price hike and other issues.
