KARACHI, June 25: The Traffic Department, in its contingency plan for the upcoming monsoon, has identified about 100 points where rainwater usually accumulates on roads and causes traffic problem.

Most of such points are in the Traffic Zone-I and include Sheraton Hotel Gate-Sindh Club intersection on Club Road, Fountain Chowk roundabout on Aiwan-i-Saddar Road, Taj Mahal Hotel-Saddar section on Airport Road, Khaliq Dina Hall-KMC building section of M. A. Jinnah Road, Denso Hall-Taj Hotel section of Altaf Hussain Road, Yaqubia Mosque-R.K. Square section of Shahrah-i-Liaquat, Tauheed Commercial signal on A. S. Ghazi Road, 26th Street signal and Khayaban-i-Tauheed signal in Khayaban-i-Shamsheer, two sides of Avari Towers and Regent Plaza signal on Sharea Faisal, Cardiovascular Gate, F.G. College, Plaza Hotel and Cantonment Chowrangi on Rafiqui Shaheed Road and the entire I. I. Chundrigar Road, Aram Bagh signal on Shahrah-i-Liaquat, S. M. Law College roundabout on Ziauddin Ahmed Road, Nawab Mahabat Khanjee Road, Frere Chowk, Garden Chowk, Saeed Manzil and Telephone Exchange near Zia Chowrangi on M. A. Zone-III: Dr Mehmoodul Hassan Road near Lal Kothi, Tipu Sultan signal, Natha Khan Goth, Star Gate to Madam Apartments, Malir-15 to Malir Mandir and Malook Hotel, Quaidabad Chowk, Dawood Chowrangi to Murtaza Chowrangi, Dawood Chowrangi to 89-Turn, Korangi Industrial Area Road, Malir River Korangi Crossing, Korangi Crossing to Korangi No.2 (towards Korangi Industrial Area Road), Expressway near Furniture Market.

Zone-IV: Mai Kolachi signal, Passenger Peer, ICI bridge, Gulbai Chowk, Ghani Chowrangi, Habib Bank Chowk, Banaras Chowk and Mowachh Goth.—PPI
