Nine die as bus overturns

DADU, June 24: Nine people were killed and 50 others injured when a bus overturned on the Indus highway near Mehar on Saturday. The Larkana-bound coach was coming from Karachi when it overturned at Dilawar Mori and fell into a ditch.

As a result, five passengers were killed on the spot. They were identified as Anwar Chandio, 36, Ghulam Rasool Matoo, 28, Ranjhan Matoo, 20, Ghulam Rasool Bughio, 22, and a teenager whose name could not be ascertained.

The bodies of four deceased were sent to their villages through ambulances while the body of the teenager was lying in the Mehar taluka hospital.

Four of the injured people died on their way to the Chandka Medical College Hospital in Larkana.

They were identified as Gul Hassan Chandio, Deedar Tunio, bus conductor Baban alias Gajan Kakepoto while a deceased of about 50 years of age remained unidentified. Their bodies were lying in the CMC hospital.

Ten of the injured, admitted to the CMC, were identified as Ali Gohar, Mujeeb, Sarfaraz, Aijaz, Ms Pathani, Mohammad Javed, Mohammad Ismail, Aandal, Ubedullah and mother of Aijaz.

Thirty-six passengers were admitted to the taluka hospital in Mehar.
