Inzamam puts up brave face

KARACHI, June 24: Pakistan team skipper Inzamamul Haq on Saturday brushed aside criticism that his side was leaving for England with a weak bowling attack.

Talking to reporters on eve of team’s departure, Inzamam said his squad is carrying a lot of bowling potential in absence of pace duo of Shoaib Akhtar and Rana Navedul Hasan.

Shoaib, who is suffering from an ankle injury, is expected to miss initial two Test matches while Naved is in danger of being ruled out of the series because of a groin problem.

The 15-man Pakistan squad was scheduled to leave for London in early hours of Sunday to play four Tests and five One-day International against the home side.

Inzamam said though his bowlers are inexperienced, they still have the tendency to win matches as they have proved it without Shoaib and Naved in the recent series.—Agencies
