T.M. Khan budget presented


HYDERABAD, June 24: Tando Mohammad Khan District Nazim Mir Inayat Ali Talpur on Saturday presented budget for 2006-07 financial year.

The budget was approved by majority of the council members while five opposition members staged a boycott. The total budget outlay stood at Rs1,276.139 million while expenses were estimated at Rs1,214.731 million.

A surplus of Rs61.408 million has been shown in the budget.

The salient features of the budget are: allocation of Rs550.121 million for salaries of employees while the non-development side will take away Rs109.089 million.

An amount of Rs114 million has been earmarked for the annual development programme, Rs39.236 million for salaries of the staff of union councils, Rs19.143 million for citizen community boards, Rs22.843 million for the Sindh Devolved Social Services Programme and Rs19.712 million for development of health and education sectors.

Other major heads include allocation of Rs13.705m for school management committees, Rs4.88m for education sector reforms, Rs50m for the National Programme for Improvement of Watercourses.—Bureau
