Concern at delay in results

Published June 24, 2006

VEHARI, June 23: Students and their parents have expressed their concern over inordinate delay in announcing the annual results of 5th class by the district education department.

A group of students and their parents told Dawn here on Thursday that the annual examinations were held in April 2006.

They said the education department had announced that the results would be declared on May 31, but it failed to announce the results despite the passage of over three weeks.

An official at the EDO office said that the Punjab examination commission, Lahore, was compiling the results and that we were unaware in this regard.

A source in the local education department said that results would be expected by the end of summer vacation.
