Kidnapped man escapes captivity

LANDI KOTAL, June 23: A man, kidnapped from Landi Kotal six months ago, escaped from his captors and reached home here on Friday.

Relatives of Faizullah, 42, said that he was kidnapped at gunpoint from Landi Kotal six months ago.

They said that Faizullah had escaped from the captivity and reached home.

ACID ATTACK: Unidentified people threw acid on the face of a medical practitioner in Landi Kotal, badly damaging his face and one eye.

Azizur Rehman, an Afghan national, ran a medical store in Landi Kotal bazar and was also a medical practitioner. He lost his eye in the attack and his face was badly burnt, witnesses said.

GIRL MISSING: An eight-year-old daughter of a cook of Landi Kotal hospital has been missing for the last three days.

Her father, who sought help from the local people during the Friday prayers, said that his daughter went missing three days ago.
