LAHORE, June 23: The administrative committee of the Lahore High Court has issued final show-cause notices to district and sessions judge S M Waqarul Hasan Shah Bokhari and additional district and sessions judges Syed Mohammad Iqtidarul Hasan Shah Bokhari and Malik Riaz Ahmad Khokhar after their reply is found to be unsatisfactory in cases charging them with professional misconduct and corruption.

The committee, which met with Chief Justice Iftikhar Husain Chaudhry in the chair, told the judicial officers that their services might be terminated in case they could not offer a satisfactory reply to the final notices.

The committee also decided to promote nine additional district and sessions judges as district and sessions judges, appoint 15 advocates as additional district and sessions judges besides confirming the services of 61 civil judges.

Those promoted to BPS-20 are Sohail Nasir, Mohammad Tariq Abbasi, Mohammad Islam, Sohaib Ahmad Roomi, Wamiq Javaid, Mohammad Falak Sher Farooq, Syed Hamid Husain, Abdul Rashid and Syed Maruf Ahmad Ali.

The advocates who were appointed additional district and sessions judges are Raja Qamaruz Zaman, Saeed Ahmed, Malik Khizar Hayat Khan, Syed Ahsan Mahboob Bokhari, Mohammad Shiraz Kyani, Mohammad Saleem, Mohammad Tariq Javed, Tanveer Ahmad Shaikh, Chaudhry Mohammad Ilyas, Azizullah Kallu, Tariq Mahmood Zargham, Arshad Mahmood, Liaquat Ali, Abid Husain and Mushtaq Elahi.
