Two injured in Pir Koh rocket attack

QUETTA, June 22: Two people were seriously injured and a mosque was damaged in a rocket attack in Pir Koh gas field area of Dera Bugti district on Thursday.

According to reports, unknown armed men launched rockets on the gas field area late at night. Two people were injured after a rocket hit a house near the OGDC camp.

“A mosque was also damaged in the attack,” sources said, adding that security forces returned fire and targeted the attackers’ positions.

Heavy exchange of fire continued for more then an hour after which the attackers fled to nearby mountains. In another incident, armed men fired rockets at a Frontier Corps Check Post in the Mach area on Wednesday night.

“They fired many rockets, targeting the FC post,” sources said, adding that after exchange of fire attackers fled.
