Govt asked to double salary of workers
QUETTA, June 22: National Labour Federation president Mirajuddin Khan has demanded that the government should increase salary of workers by 100 per cent.
Speaking at a press conference at the press club here on Thursday, he said the unprecedented price hike had made lives of labourers miserable.
He said the federal budget had disappointed the working class because no relief had been provided to poor people, particularly workers.
He said the 15 per cent increase in salary of government employees was not enough keeping in view the increase in prices of flour, sugar, ghee, pulses and mutton.
Mr Khan warned that workers would launch a protest movement in the country if the government did not accept demands of the NLF.
He regretted that the government had taken no steps to address grievances of coalmine workers.
