NBP chief’s tenure extended
KARACHI, June 22: The president of National Bank of Pakistan Ali Raza got another extension and will continue to serve the bank for another three years.
Ali Raza, who assumed the charge of the president and chairman of the NBP in July 2000, earned record profits for the bank, said a press release issued here on Thursday.
During his tenure the NBP was declared “Bank of the Year” by The Banker, of Financial Times group. The bank received this award four times in the last five years.
Ali Raza also received Sitara-i-Imtiaz in 2005. The Banker magazine recognized NBP as the bank with the highest return on capital in Asia and number eight in the world.
