GUJRANWALA, June 21: District Police Officer Mian Muhammad Asif has expanded the Rescue-15 service in the four towns of the city district.
New centres have been set up in many parts of the district while the control room has been established in the Police Lines.
Speaking to this correspondent on Wednesday, the DPO said the Aroop Town Rescue-15 service centre had been set up in front of the Saint Joseph School on the Sialkot Road, Nandipur Town centre at People’s Colony market, Qila Deedar Singh Town’s at Dhulley Chowk and Khiali Town’s at Gap chowk.
He said the police officials would patrol in their beats round the clock. He said the Eagle Squad service would also be launched here within a couple of days.
The DPO said free registration of cases would be ensured at the police stations but arrests would be made only after investigation. He said he would seek cooperation of lawyers, the chamber of commerce and industry and traders in combating crime.
GEPCO: The Gujranwala Electric Power Company observed a safety day with the coordination of the Wapda Hydro-electric Labour Union in Gujranwala, Sialkot and Gujrat on Wednesday.
In their message, Wapda chairman Tariq Hamid and the Gepco chief executive, Brig Saifullah Khalid, urged the linemen to adopt proper safety measures while working in the field.
A seminar was held at the Shaheenabad grid station to highlight the importance of security measures.
