Land distribution highly skewed

By Our Reporter

ISLAMABAD, June 21: The distribution of land is highly skewed in Pakistan despite three land reforms in the past and is the main reason for the failure of a number of efforts to reduce poverty in the country.

“A large portion of the rural population is landless or near landless working as labourers,” says a report of the World Bank (WB) and United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO) issued at a ceremony at the Pakistan Agricultural Research Council (PARC) here on Wednesday.
